FRACTURE, collaboration between the LAO school and the Richard Ginori company.

A group of students from the jewellery-making course has created a collection of jewel-objects, using porcelain fragments from the historic and famous Richard Ginori company.

The jewels produced will be put on sale at an auction held by the well-known auction house Sotheby’s, to help raise funds for the restoration of works preserved in the Doccia Museum, closed to the public since 2014.

For the realization of the jewels the students used silver, hard stones and enamels, and different construction techniques. For some objects, we used the Art Clay Silver, a special material coming from recycling processes for materials destined for landfills.

The auction will be held on 25 November at the headquarters of Officine Saffi, a well-known Milan-based gallery specialized in contemporary ceramics.

The project was devised by LAO together with the Amici di Doccia Association, in collaboration with the Cologni Foundation.
