The magic of the engraved drawing
The refined, much-prized and subtle art of burin engraving, in which the working technique and pleasure in the ornament combine admirably, finds its best masters in Tuscany. The school re-evaluates this technique, which can also be used with excellent results in contemporary creations.
The exercises are done on plate or objects in silver or other metals, or on semi-finished products (rings, pendants, bracelets…)
All the material is included in the school fees, and all the works produced remain the property of the student, who can take them away at the end of the course, leaving one at the school for purely promotional use.
The art of drawing on metal
Two types of burin engraving are offered
Engraving on flat plates, with decorative and figurative subjects. With this technique, it is possible to produce matrices for printing, decorative panels, boxes and frames.
Engraving on jewellery: This surprising technique allows you to produce engravings on jewellery with almost sculptural results, which give the objects an immense added value. Only students who have already attended at least one basic course of engraving on flat plates can enroll in this course.
All courses may be of different lengths, and in different periods of the year; they include only workshop lessons and exercises, are open to all and can be combined with other courses on different subjects (see Academic Courses).
