Teaching staff

It is thanks to the expert teaching skill of the school's well-qualified teaching staff, supported from time to time by professional operators and designers from the international jewellery world, that the scool's programmes materialise into effective training activity.
The school's founder, Giò Carbone - who besides adopting traditional methods, is also a master of more rare and experimental techniques - relies on an exceptionally well-qualified teaching staff, as Pasqualina Are and Shinobu Nozue.
Stone setting courses are conducted by Francesco Pinzauti and Mario Boscherini.
Giuseppe Casale is a true master of burin engraving. Gemmology courses are held by Vittorio Romiti, and Ilaria Pistolesi.
History of Jewellery is taught by Patrizia Meloni, and Maria Cristina Bergesio, a great
expert in contemporary jewellery.
Enameling lessons are entrusted to the skills of Sachiko Honami Chino.
Over the last ten years the school has received great acclaim for its jewellery design courses, as a result of the professionalism and commitment of Jasmina Carbone, Valentina Callo, Mauro Vegliante.

Invited teachers
The work of our teachers is integrated with the occasional collaboration of prominent personalities in the world of design, art, and business, who take turns to hold lessons, short courses and conferences. Among the many important names are Dutch goldsmith artist Ruudt Peters (director of the jewellery department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie of Amsterdam), Christophe Burger of France, the Germans Erhard Brepohl (considered the greatest master of goldworking technology) and Sabine Strobel, Giampaolo Babetto, Giovanni Corvaja, Carla Riccoboni.
Entrepreneurs like Gabriella Garzi and famous designers, from Ruggero Sandini (who has collaborated with Balestra, Pranda, Bulova, Laurentia and many others), to Maria Grazia Rodi (March 2002 and February-June 2003), jewellery and accessory designer for some of the most famous international jewellery and fashion houses.
In April 2003 the famous German designer Barbara Schmidt held a fascinating and extremely popular seminar on the use of plastic materials in jewellery.
In October 2003 the goldsmith Giovanni Corvaja held a seminar on the use of granulation in  contemporary jewellery, and has been holding goldsmith’s classes once a month since 2004.

The famous designer Carla Riccoboni has been giving important contributions on goldsmith’s designing in drawing classes since February 2004.

Schools?

Esiste da qualche anno in Italia una vera e propria proliferazione di "scuole" di oreficeria, gestite da persone a volte animate da buoni propositi, a volte no, come capita in tutti gli ambiti di lavoro.
