Conceived and founded in Florence in 1985 by Giò Carbone, Le Arti Orafe is the most prestigious private italian school for contemporary jewellery, conceived along original lines that combine technical training, artistic research and contemporary design.
Since December 2008 the italian artist Giampaolo Babetto is the artistic director of the school.
The school has always stood out because of its activities in promoting jewellery culture in the widest and most complete sense of the expression. Our completely innovatory teaching methods has left the old stereotypes behind and invented, tested and refined a creative, personalised way of learning, without losing sight of the acquisition of the techniques and concepts.
At Le Arti Orafe; it is not a case of learning to design and make a certain type of jewellery - the 'Florentine' or the 'contemporary' - but rather of acquiring the methodologies that allow production of, and experimentation with, all types of jewellery.
The results of our teaching methods can also be assessed from the competitions, exhibitions and projects in which our students take part every year.
The school has also always enjoyed collaboration with the top schools and most established institutes around the world.
Since 2003 the school has been the only private Training Agency accredited by the Educational Authority to run training courses in the jewellery/goldsmithery sector.
