STEFANO MARCHETTI

"Surface in depth" in jewellery design.

Workshop by Stefano Marchetti

Hacking Ideas -- A way of thinking in jewellery design.
The goal of this workshop is to focus on how ideas in jewellery may be developed, disassembled and reconstructed in order to get their final shape.
The four-day workshop will start with the analysis of a classical design icon, and try to understand how it works. Then the experience will continue by hacking the classical object, piece by piece, to rebuilt it in a new shape and function. The course will mainly focus on the theoretical aspect of the subject 'design in contemporary jewellery”', but at the same time you will be involved in practical exercise, in order to learn how to realize jewellery.
While working and discussing you will approach the characteristics of different techniques, and the ways in which the objects are conceived and made. You will have the chance to share your point of view with Stefano Marchetti for a three-hundred-and-sixty degree investigation into design and ideas in contemporary jewellery.
In the workshop the Artist will teach one of his technical procedures too: the “micromosaic in metal”.
The course will be conducted in the English/Italian
