Italy and specially Toscana still preserves and hands down this ancient art, in which technique and taste in ornamentation and design combine admirably.

The engraving technique can also be used to great effect in contemporary jewellery.
The school offers two practical courses in this sophisticated technique: a six month and an intensive summer course.

The six-month course can also be combined with courses in other disciplines (see Academic courses).
The intensive course is organized in September every year.
